CRYket 2026 – Beyond the Pitch : Cricket for a Cause

CRY, Child Rights and You America, held its successful CRYket tournament this past weekend, bringing together young athletes, cricket enthusiasts, families, volunteers and supporters for an exciting celebration of sport, teamwork and community.
The event featured a highly enthusiastic Under 11 youth cricket competition, where young players demonstrated impressive skill and sportsmanship. The women’s tournament was equally well received, drawing strong support and participation from the community. The men’s tournament was
A key highlight of the day was an interactive session led by Jaimin Pandya, Team USA sports therapist and Sunny Thakkar, NJ Rehab and USPL physiotherapist. They shared their expertise with the youth teams on injury prevention and proper warm-up techniques and building healthy habits.
Events like CRYket raises funds and awareness, says Aarin Shrivastava, NY Youth Chapter Volunteer, and helps CRY America’s work in supporting children and also gets the children here to come out and play and instills in them the discipline and passion for the game and it’s all for a good cause.
The team members of The Ridge drew a direct line between action and impact noting that ‘because we came out and played today, someone who might not have had opportunity, now does.’ Vrinda Deval, team captain says for them ‘this is passion and purpose coming together.’
